About Emma Bailey
Emma Bailey is a unique Ceramic Artist, born and bred in Staffordshire, the UK's home of pottery. Her work is undoubtedly steeped in the heritage of ceramic talent that comes from her hometown and already deemed to be the next Clarice Cliff, as her influences and an instinct for striking colour and design are imminent.
All of her work is created spontaneously by hand from a feeling rather than a plan. She does not work with drawings or prints but hand paints freely on fine bone china, a range of original pieces that shift elegantly from traditional to contemporary, touching everything from classical to fun and funky in-between.
The nature of the work means that no two pieces are the same. Vases, tea pots and mugs, cups, saucers, cake stands, plates and bowls, all individually hand painted so that each item is one-of-a-kind.
With more than 30 years in the ceramic industry, 16 of those were as an Artisan of pottery for the famous Wedgwood. Her experiences are rich in a wealth of influences inspired by the culture of her life and The Potteries.
Love and colour is clear in her vibrant work, along with the integrity of a true artist whose intention is to create unique hand crafted pieces.
